WAYS TO GIVE

ANNUAL GIVING

Making contributions to the church is easy through the Presbyterian Foundation's Mission Exchange.

By clicking the link below and following the directions, you can set up an account that will allow you to make a one time gift or set up a recurring gift that can be drafted from your bank account or credit card.

Please note: Contributions made from a bank account incur smaller processing fees for the church and are preferable to using a credit card.

THE FPC FOUNDATION

The sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church was built in 1888. Over one hundred years later, we began to build a Foundation to care for our historic, sacred space. The First Presbyterian Church (Birmingham) Foundation provides ongoing supplemental income to support the church in the maintenance and upkeep of its historic facility.

Additionally, at least 10% of the annual annuity from the Foundation is designated for church mission projects selected by the Session. Through offsetting church operating expenses related to the care and upkeep of our building, the Foundation frees up general church funds to fulfill our direct ministry goals!

We ask that you prayerfully consider an outright, pledged, or planned gift to the First Presbyterian Church (Birmingham) Foundation.

For more information, please e-mail Mike Goodrich.

FLOWERS

If you are interested in placing flowers for worship in honor or in memory of someone, please call Margie McCullough. Arrangements are $65 each. This is a wonderful way to acknowledge someone you hold dear. You can reach Margie at 854-3271.

A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

First Presbyterian was the first church in Birmingham, and for over 145 years we have not abandoned our post as a home in the heart of the city. This is our chance to shape the future. The church building is our home: it's where we worship, and it enables our mission and ministry. We must ensure it is in good shape for generations to come. We not only see a bright future ahead but we believe, with God's help, we are called to help create it: won't you join us?

The work will cost roughly $1 million dollars and will include:

+ New Heating and Air Conditioning system. (We are without heat and air right now – the old units lasted as long as they could, and must be replaced.)

+ Exterior repairs to make our sanctuary roof water-tight, replace crumbling window frames and doors, and repair the Carillon.

+ Necessary repairs to stained glass windows and more (including a Columbarium, Kitchen, Bus, and Sound Stage, if possible).

Pledges will be payable over a 3-year period, and installation of the new heating and air conditioning system will begin as soon as possible.
