CHILDREN OF FPC
CHILDREN ARE CHERISHED
You might hear us refer to ourselves as the “church with the children in the middle.” This is not just because of the physical location of the playground between the two of the wings of our building. It is a testament to our children being the life, energy, and future of our church.
Sunday School is offered each Sunday during the school year. The nursery is available for our youngest ones during church school and worship services.
8:30am Nursery: Room 110 - for children 6 weeks to 3 years.
9:45am Sunday School: Room 205 - for children aged 3 years to 5th grade, multi-age with upper elementary students as helpers. Telling stories from the bible and learning about faith.
10:30am PRAYlude: Room 200 - for children of all ages. Children share prayer concerns, hear a bible story based on the day's lectionary texts, and create an easy craft before worship.
WORSHIP: BALCONY CHURCH
Balcony Church invites our 3-6 year olds up to the balcony for part of worship. Our children experience a little of what worship is like, while they do activities related to the scripture, such as children's bulletins, coloring, puzzles, books, etc. Christian Educator Patti Winter takes the children to the balcony after the Focus on Children in the 11:00 service, and one of our nursery workers is also there.
On Communion Sundays, children in Balcony Church return to worship to break bread with their families.
PRAYground is an interactive, intergenerational, informal worship, learning, and fellowship experience. We gather in Matthews Hall to share a meal, learn, play, and worship from 5:15-6:45 the second Sunday of most months.
